With the continued growth of the Universities in Leicester there has been an increasing demand for more student accommodation to facilitate the influx of overseas students. This project saw a former textile factory of load bearing masonry construction strengthened and refurbished to create on campus accommodation.

A design and build project, Farrow Walsh advised on the strengthening of the existing structure including the assessment of the fire damaged areas. The tight city centre location and close proximity of existing structures posed considerable problems; all of which had to be considered when looking at the creation of the architect arrangement.
